About the Website Uptime Checker
This website uptime checker makes an on-demand request from buffer.lol's server and reports whether a public URL responds. It is designed for quick reachability checks when you need a second external viewpoint.
How to use this tool
Enter the complete page URL you want to test and run the check. Test the exact hostname and path affected by the incident, then compare it with a known public page on the same site. If the response redirects, note the final URL. Repeat the check after a configuration or deployment change, but use a monitoring service when you need scheduled probes, alerting, or a historical uptime percentage.
How to read the result
A successful connection means the checker received an HTTP response; the status code still determines whether that response represents success, redirection, or an error. Response time includes DNS, connection, TLS, redirects, and server work observed by this request. A fast error page is still an outage from a visitor's perspective. Differences between this result and your browser can point toward regional, authentication, cache, or network-specific behavior.
Limits and privacy
One successful check does not prove continuous uptime, and one failed check does not prove a global outage. The request comes from a single server location and can be affected by bot protection, rate limits, DNS, transient routing, or the checker itself. Private addresses and internal hostnames are blocked. The submitted URL is processed only to perform the requested diagnostic; no account or continuous monitoring is created.
Common questions
- Does this calculate an uptime percentage?
- No. It checks the URL now. A reliable uptime percentage requires scheduled measurements collected over a defined period.
- Why is the site up for me but down for the checker?
- Regional routing, DNS, firewall rules, bot protection, authentication, or cached browser content can make two viewpoints behave differently.
